Last Will & Testament of Martin Race (1836-1909)

In the name of God Amen, I, Martin
Race, of the City of Chicago, County of Cook and State of Illinois, being of
sound mind and memory, and considering the uncertainty of this frail and transitory
life, do , therefore, make, ordain, publish and declare, this to be my last
will and testament.
First: I order and direct
that my Executor hereinafter named pay all my just debts and funeral expenses
as soon after my decease as conveniently may
be.
Second: After the payment of such
funeral expenses and debts, I give and bequeath to Arthur W. Kline, son of my
deceased daughter Alice,
the sum of One Dollar.
Third: I give, devise and
bequeath to Ellen M. Race, my daughter, Truth A. Race, my daughter and Charles
E. Race, my son, in equal parts,
all the rest, residue and remainder of the property whether
real, personal or mixed, of which I may die possessed.
Lastly, I make, constitute and appoint
Frank L. Race to be Executor of this, my Last Will and Testament,
hereby revoking all former Wills by me made.
In witness whereof, I have hereunto
subscribed my name and affixed my seal the 29th day of June,
in the year of our Lord, One Thousand Nine Hundred Nine (A.D. 1909)

This Instrument, was on the date of the
date thereof, signed, published and declared by the said testator, Martin Race,
to be his last Will and Testament, in the presence of us, who at his request
have subscriber our names thereto as witnesses, in his presence, and in the
presence of each other.
