Martha (Patterson) Hopkins
Martha (Patterson) Hopkins was born July 22, 1785 in Mount Washington, Mass a daughter of Charles and Martha (Hall) Patterson. She married Freeman Hopkins Jr 1802. Martha and her husband moved to Ontario, Wayne Co., NY in 1806 where they are known as some of the earliest settlers of the town. Martha died and was buried there in 1865.

Freeman Hopkins Jr
Freeman Hopkins Jr was born March 4, 1779
a son of Freeman and Hannah (Cole) Hopkins of Dutchess County, NY.
He married in 1802 Martha Patterson
the oldest daughter of Charles & Martha (Hall) Patterson of Mount Washington.
In 1806 he moved to Ontario, Wayne Co., NY where he and his wife are known as some of the first settlers. Freeman died and was buried there in 1856.
"Freeman Hopkins built the first sawmill in the town, and his daughter, Melissa's birth on May 7, 1806, was the first in Ontario. Sadly, Freeman Hopkins came to an unfortunate end. After becoming blind in his later years, he drowned himself in his cistern." Source: Office of the County Historian Ontario, New York

Hannah (Patterson) Pratt
Hannah (Patterson) Pratt was born Augugst 13, 1789 in Mount Washington, Mass
a daughter of Charles and Martha (Hall) Patterson.
She married Linus Pratt abt. 1810 and eventually moved to and later died in Michigan.

Emma (Patterson) Schutt
Emma (Patterson) Schutt was born November 2, 1798 in Mount Washington, Mass
the youngest daughter of Charles and Martha (Hall) Patterson of Mount Washington.
Emma married Ira Schutt November 27, 1823 and died January 13, 1893 in Great Barrington, Mass where she was was buried in Mahaiwe Cemetery.

Ira Schutt was born December 31, 1801 in Mount Washington, Mass
a son of Wilhelmus and Anna (Tyler) Schutt.
He married Emma Patterson November 27, 1823 and died November 13, 1874 in Great Barrington, Mass where he was buried in Mahaiwe Cemetery.

Abigail (Pratt) Dillon was born 1816 in Mount Washington, Mass
a daughter of Linus and Hannah (Patterson) Pratt.
She married Lorenzo Dillon Oct 1838 & in 1839 moved to Michigan
where she died October 29, 1894.

Isaac & Adeline (Schutt) Spurr
Adeline (Schutt) Spurr was born in Mount Washington, Mass., September 9, 1835
a daughter of Ira and Emma (Patterson) Schutt.
She married Isaac Spurr in May 1854 a son of Cornelius and Rachel (Newman) Spurr.
Isaac Spurr was born September 23, 1825 and died January 10, 1900. Adeline died Jun 29, 1920.
Both are buried in the Mount Washington Cemetery.

a son of Isaac and Adeline (Schutt) Spurr.
Alfred conducted the "Penny Royal Arms" in Mount Washington in the early 1900's.

Marcus Morton Schutt
Marcus Morton Schutt was born March 18, 1840 in Mount Washington, Mass
a son of Ira and Emma (Patterson) Schutt.
He married Sophia Stockwell in 1865.
Marcus during the Civil War enlisted as a Sergeant in Company E of the 49th Regiment Massachusetts and suffered an accidental hand wound during skirmishes in 1863.

Hiram Patterson
Hiram Patterson was born 18 Apr 1815 in Mount Washington, MA, a son of Joseph Patterson and Elizabeth Kane. He moved with his parents to Lorain County, OH in 1834 where he married 01 Jan 1839 Lydia King Brooks. After her death in 1851 Hiram Patterson had two subsequent wives. With his first wife Lydia he was the father of six children. He died 22 Mar 1898 in Ohio & was buried in La Porte Cemetery, Carlisle, OH

Dr. Richard John Patterson 1817-1893
Dr. Richard John Patterson was born September 14, 1817 in Mount Washington, MA a son of Joseph Patterson (1780-1874) and Elizabeth Kane (1789-1883)
After serving in the Civil War as a surgeon in 1867 he purchased Bellevue Place in Batavia, IL which was run under his direction as an asylum for women.
He was the attending physician to President Lincoln's widow, Mary Todd Lincoln, who inhabited a private suite in 1876 and who harbored an affection for his retarted daughter Blanche Patterson in 1876.

William Patterson was born February 21, 1811 in Mount Washington, Mass a son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Kane) Patterson. By 1838 he moved to Elyria, Lorain County, Ohio where he later died in 1901.

Isaac Lamson
Isaac Lamson was born February 8, 1799 in Charlton, Mass
a son of Isaac Lamson and his first wife Keziah Sharpe.
He married Celina Miller in 1825.
By 1830 he and his wife moved from Sheffield, Mass to his father's farm in Mount Washington. A few years before his father's death they moved to Connecticut. Isaac died March 25, 1866 in Burlington, Conn.

Jason Lamson was born April 16, 1806 in Mount Washington, Mass
a son of Isaac Lamson and his second wife Deborah Pray.
He married Susannah Campbell November 1832.
Jason and his wife Susannah lived their lives in Mount Washington where they both died and were buried in the Mount Washington Cemetery, Jason having died November 30, 1890.

Origen Lamson
Origen Lamson was born June 8, 1791 in Charlton, Mass
a son of Isaac Lamson and his first wife Keziah Sharpe.
He married Eliza Patterson September 15, 1815. After his wife died in Mt Washington in May of 1847, Origen moved to Beetown, WI with his oldest daughter Eliza where he died April 2, 1875.

Daniel Lamson
Daniel Lamson was born January 26, 1832 in Mount Washington, Mass
a son of Origen and Eliza (Patterson) Lamson.
He married Emily Jane Fiske 1856 in New Hampshire and was the father of two children.
He enlisted as a Sergeant First class in Company H of the 35th Infantry Regiment Massachusetts during the Civil War and was killed at the Battle of Fredericksburg, VA on December 13, 1862.
"Just before the battle of Fredericksburg he was excused on account of his health and advised not to enter the battle. He laid in his tent until the regiment was in line, when he got up, looked at the pictures of his wife and children, put them in his pocket, then went to the officers and told them he should take his place in ranks. He was shot instantly, Dec. 13, 1862."

Isaac Porter Lamson was born September 2, 1832 in Mount Washington, MA a son of Isaac Lamson (1799-1866) and Celina Miller (1805-1888).
He married May 17, 1856 Fannie L Sessions born April 21, 1836 in Burlington, CT a daughter of Calvin Sessions and Lydia Beckwith.
In 1868 with his brother Thomas he established Lamson & Sessions Co. in Cleveland, OH and was the President.

Orrin C Whitbeck
Orrin C Whitbeck was born December 2, 1827 in Mount Washington, Mass
a son of Kileon & Maria (Patterson) Whitbeck.
He married on June 8, 1849 Nancy M Kline born April 27, 1828 a daughter of Horace & Electa Kline.
Orrin Whitbeck held all of the town offices in Mount Washington. For twelve years he was town clerk and was a justice of the peace for twenty-five years.
Orrin died 1911 in Mount Washington. His wife Mary predeceased him in 1901. Both Orrin and his wife Nancy are buried in the Mount Washington Cemetery.

Milo & Comfort Smith
Milo Smith was born about 1790 in Massachusetts a son of Samuel and Sally Smith.
His wife Comfort was born about 1790 in Connecticut.
Milo Smith opened his farmhouse to city boarders in Mount Washington. Both Milo and his wife Comfort died in Mount Washington in 1860 and were buried in the Mount Washington Cemetery.
